Brighton's Halloween party and Coda post-op day 3

Brighton was a hippo ballerina for Halloween.  Yep.

A rainy day, but we all had a great time!

Our annual dog park Halloween party!

Silly pup!

Meanwhile...Coda is on the mend at home.  Only post-op day 3 and Coda acts like nothing happened.  He wants to run and jump and play already.

WHAT?  I can't go to the party?  WHYYYYYYY?

Thank goodness for Kongs.

Coda's always loved his crate.  We never need to close the door, and he just climbs right in and takes in nap!

Laquisha up there had the same idea.

Crazy eyes!

Coda's Shoulder Surgery: Post-Op Day 1

It's been awhile, but a lot has happened.  Coda has been limping for awhile and was recently diagnosed with  an Osteochondrosis Lesion of the right shoulder.  We are very lucky that it is only on one shoulder and yesterday he had surgery to correct it.  The surgery went very well, all the extra cartilage was removed successfully and the Vet expects Coda to make a complete recovery.  I'm hoping we can go back to agility once he's healed up!  Now the tough part: keeping a 10-month old border collie still for the next 3 weeks!

The Vet said that this was the one of the clearest examples of OCD he's ever seen.  That big white chunk in there was a floating piece of cartilage!  There were several pieces like that moving around in his shoulder -- no wonder he was limping!

Brighton was oddly and eerily quiet the past 2 days when Coda has been gone.   I think he missed Coda.

The boys are reunited!

Fall -- our favorite season!

We went on a wonderful hike at Prairie Oaks Park!  Coda proved himself as a very strong swimmer.  He loved swimming first with the current, then paddling up-stream back to bank!
